Tasmanian Lakeside Day and Night Ambience
19 files • 24 bit/96 kHz • 2.8 GB • 60 minWe recorded most of this sound library around Teds Beach, a peaceful lakeside campground along the road to Strathgordon in southwest Tasmania. After spending the day recording around the nearby dam, we decided to stay overnight rather than make the long drive back to Mount Field National Park, giving us the opportunity to capture the changing atmosphere from day into night.
Throughout our stay, the weather shifted constantly as rain showers rolled across the lake, strong winds swept over the water, and long periods of calm settled across the shoreline. These changing conditions created a diverse collection of authentic Tasmanian lakeside ambiences.
The nighttime recordings feature gentle waves lapping against the rocky shore, crickets calling from the surrounding vegetation, occasional nocturnal birds, and soft wind moving through the trees. With the campground nearly deserted, we were able to capture long, uninterrupted recordings free from traffic and other human activity, preserving the peaceful character of this remote Tasmanian landscape.
Whether you're working on films, documentaries, video games, or immersive nature projects, this collection delivers authentic day and night lakeside ambience from the wilderness of southwest Tasmania.
