Rainy City Night Ambience Taiwan

Kaohsiung is one of Taiwan’s most important port cities, where heavy industry and everyday urban life exist side by side. Its massive harbor and dense infrastructure create a distinctive atmosphere, especially at night, when the city settles into a slower rhythm under glowing lights and steady rain.
On a rainy evening near the train station, we recorded these sounds from our hotel window, capturing the defining textures of Kaohsiung after dark. Raindrops fall steadily onto metal roofs below, forming a constant rhythmic pattern. In the distance, traffic hums through the rain while air conditioners add a low, surreal drone that fills the gaps between passing vehicles.
This library presents an intimate perspective on a Taiwanese city at night, shaped by weather, architecture, and urban infrastructure. Ideal for neon-lit scenes, film and game environments, or layered ambient sound design, these recordings work equally well as a foreground atmosphere or as a subtle background bed, bringing the mood of a rainy night in Kaohsiung into your projects.
