We recorded these sounds on a hot summer day in the bamboo forests of Hellfire Pass, Thailand. What stayed with us most was the contrast between the deep calm of the environment and the heavy history tied to this place. Standing quietly with our microphones, the forest felt peaceful and still, yet emotionally charged.

The soundscape itself is full of subtle detail. Gentle bird calls drift through the canopy while bees and flies move softly through the air. Wind passes through tall bamboo stalks, occasionally causing dry stems to creak above, while brittle leaves rustle across the forest floor. In the distance, a faint airplane passes overhead, briefly crossing the otherwise timeless atmosphere.
