One of my favorite memories when it comes to tea was hanging out with tea traders in Taipei, Taiwan.

I noticed I was surrounded by an abundance of Oolong Tea while wandering through some amazing small alleyways in Taipei. One of the business owners asked to come inside his shop, and before I knew it, I was seated with two incredible people, chatting about tea and having one cup after the other. What truly blew my mind was not only the flavor of the various teas, but also the entire process how the tea was given to me.

Back in Germany, we paid a visit to one of our friends who shares the same interest in tea but, in addition to drinking tea, he is also a collector of really remarkable and unique Japanese and Chinese tea cups. He spends hundreds of Euros on a single one of these handcrafted and one-of-a-kind tea cups.

I asked if I could use some hot water and record the sound of it filling and pouring. If you pay attention, you will notice that each of the tea cups has a distinctive and unique sound and it all depends on how I pour the hot water, as well as the size and shape of the tea cup.

Besides recording the pouring, I also recorded the sound of moving the cups and the tea pot around the table.

These are wonderful sound effects when it comes to post production for film, animation, video games, ASMR or even audio dramas.
