Welcome to our royalty-free sample library of high-quality kalimba sound effects! Not long ago, we came across a music shop in Izmir, Turkey and spotted a kalimba in the window. The idea of recording kalimba sound effects immediately came to our minds, and we knew we had to do it.
We recorded each of the 10 keys of the kalimba, starting with G4, E5, D4, C5, A3, G3, A4, C4, D5, E4. To capture the best possible sound, we used an AKG C411pp contact microphone. This gave us a clean sound that is perfect for sound design and can be adjusted to the desired level of decibels.
We chose to use a contact microphone instead of a shotgun or stereo microphone to avoid any unwanted background noise, as we don’t have a soundproofed studio. With the contact microphone, we were able to achieve a clean and high-quality sound that can be easily manipulated with different reverbs and plugins.
We included a total of 50 different notes, recorded in 192kHz 24bit, so you have plenty of options to choose from and can adjust the volume of the recording as needed.
If you’re looking for high-quality and unique kalimba sound effects that are also affordable, our sample library is the perfect choice for you.
