Recording Onboard Ferry & Harbour Sound Effects in Croatia
Welcome to Croatia!
For this royalty-free sound library, I will take you on a ferry ride between Ploce & Trpanj in Croatia. Nothing is better than having an original location soundscape. Maybe you’re working on a project that requires exactly these sound effects and I’m glad you found us. Not only are these recordings royalty-free, but this library is also one of the free ones that will never have a price tag.
ABOUT THE LIBRARY
On our way to Dubrovnik, we couldn’t cross the border to Bosnia and Herzegovina with our rental car and instead, we took the ferry twice. So remember, if you want to rent a car in Croatia and drive to Dubrovnik, ask the car rental company about the green paper. This will allow you to drive through the corridor. But to be honest, the ferry ride is amazing. In the evening, when the sun goes down, you think you are crossing an island formation somewhere in Thailand. Croatia is by far one of my favorite countries to live and visit in Europe. Those 3 months passed so quickly.
Both times while using the ferry I recorded the ambience on the ferry and at the harbors as well.
You will find 35 different recordings (4.6 GB) recorded with the Sennheiser MKH 8040, the LOM Geofon, AKG C411pp, and the new Zoom H8.
I recorded the arrival of the cars/trucks getting on and off the ferry, our own driving onto the ferry, the outside atmosphere on different decks, and I recorded some great metallic vibration sounds with the LOM Geofon. Once at night and once during the day.
