During my travels in Vietnam, I had the amazing opportunity to record the sounds of the Gibbons. My journey began in the north in Cat Tien National Park, where the lush and diverse nature immediately drew me in. With my trusty Lom Usi Pro and Zoom F8n recording equipment, I was determined to record the Gibbon calls that could be heard between 6 am and 9 am, but with the sound pollution in the area, I knew I had to be strategic.
I took the first ferry across the river and followed a small trail that led me straight to the Gibbons. The moment I heard their calls was unforgettable – the sounds were unlike anything I’d ever heard before! I was able to record them in 360° audio, making them perfect for use in VR projects. From the unique and energetic calls of the Gibbons to the bird and footstep sound effects along the trail, I hope you enjoy these royalty-free recordings and find them useful in your projects.
Gibbons in Vietnam have their homes in several protected areas and national parks, including Cat Tien National Park, Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, and Cuc Phuong National Park. These areas provide a safe and secure habitat for these lively creatures, giving visitors like me the opportunity to experience their amazing sounds and energy.
Be sure to check out more sounds on our Nature page and this Phong Nha Jungle Sound Library.
