Where can I get spooky, eery sound effects? Most of the time, when I’m out recording sounds, I look for unusual sounds in small dark alleyways but for this sound library, I went to the staircase in our apartment building, which has a seriously amazing creepy vibe.
I went there to record over 50 different doors, and each door has a very distinctive and different sound.
The reverb coming from the various floors while closing the doors is what I find to be very unique. You could use the recordings as an impulse response as well.
In addition to the open and closing door sound effects, I recorded the rattling of closed doors and I found one door that had the spookiest creaks, which we also shared on our Instagram account and received over 50K views already.Â
I will soon be recording the same doors in VR, as well as the room tone and footsteps sound effects and all sounds will be available inside our All In One Bundle as well.
Be sure to check out more sounds on our Special SFX collection and this Dark Drones from Iceland Sound Library.
Who would have thought a handy sound recorder in Cambodia would lead us here?
Hi there we’re Marcel and Libby and every sound on this site has been recorded by us. For nearly 7 years, we’ve been traveling around the world recording unique sounds for others to use!Â
