Recording protest sound effects against Stuttgart 21 in Germany.
Before we jet set across the sea to the US we spent one night in Stuttgart, Germany. If you are unfamiliar with this project, let me explain a little bit what it is.
During a train ride back in 1999, I remember sitting inside a train watching tv and an ad showed up. A brand new train and railway system for Stuttgart.
This massive project planned to destroy the old train station above and build a new one underneath. The official start for this project was planned for 2010. An estimated end of the project is calculated for 2022 and is projected to cost around 10 Billion Euros.
The protest is planned each Monday and you can see a crowd of middle-aged to retired Germans walking in the parade with musical instruments walking down the Königstrasse to the main train station.
In this video, you will see us walking along the parade recording these sounds and archiving history.
