Welcome to Chiang Mai and to a binaural sound experience
Make sure you use headphones because we’re visiting a Chiang Mai night market and using Soundman OKM Rock Studio Binaural in ear microphones.
Around 9 pm I went to one of the countless street food markets and this one is called “Chang Puak Night Market”. During the time I was there it wasn’t super busy and I could record a great variety of different ambience sounds.
I stared to record near the ring road and walked slowly to the vendors. This is when we can start hearing the preparation and the sizzling of the food.
People laughing, chatting and walking around. Everybody has a great time and enjoyed the experience of a food market. As I mentioned we’re close to the road and the sound of the cars and the Tuk Tuk’s are present as well.
While I’m walking and recording binaural, you can hear things are getting busier and busier. People sitting on small plastic chairs and tables and having dinner.
After reaching the end of the market, I turned around and walked closer to the food stalls and I recorded of the grilled food and the people who make it.
Cars and motorcycles are driving behind me and I walk back into the enter the market again to record the final ambience of the people sitting in the chairs eating and chatting with each other.
When you live in Chiang Mai you will notice a lot of older Vespas. In this sound library, you can find the sound of it as well.
