When I was in St. Gabriel Canyon in California in hopes of recording nature sounds. I stopped the car on the shoulder of a road and walked down a small path to find a huge concrete plateau in the forest! Perhaps, someone had the idea to build a house there but decided to abandon the project.
This location allowed me to capture snapping sounds of sticks while stomping on them. This created wonderful percussion sound effects! I also did some running sounds and whoosh effects with my shoes! Before heading home, I came across a glass bottle so I kicked this bottle around!
This free foley sound effects library contains several wood breaking sound effects and glass rolling over gravel sound effects. When using different plugins, the possibilities to utilize these free sound effects are endless. Try it out with free plugins like Valhalla Reverb.
