Driving Sounds in the Rain: Car Interior Sound Effects
As a field recordist, I have a passion for capturing the sounds of different modes of transportation. Whether it’s a car, a motorcycle, or a taxi, I’m always eager to record the unique sounds that come with the experience. In my previous sound libraries, I’ve recorded car interior sounds in various locations such as Los Angeles, Denver, and Hanoi. But for my latest project, I wanted to add a new element to the mix… rain!
During a trip to Cyprus, my partner and I rented a brand new Opel Corsa for a month to explore the island at our own pace. As I drove, I recorded the sounds of the car’s interior. But what really made this library stand out was the addition of the rain soundscape.
Driving on the highway, the heavy rain hit the car’s front window and other parts of the vehicle, creating a unique ambiance that I knew I had to capture. I manually shifted gears and used the blinker and windshield wipers, recording every detail of the experience. Later, I parked the car in a parking area and recorded the windshield wipers separately to provide even more options for sound design and post-production.

Our recordings are provided as wav files and can be used with Logic Pro, Cubase, Nuendo, Ableton, Pro Tools, Reaper, Audacity, Adobe or any other audio/video editing software!
The library tracks are recorded in 192 kHz 24 bit which gives you all the flexibility you need.
Since we embedded these files with rich metadata like file description & keywords you are able to quickly find the sounds. We suggest using professional audio management tools like Soundly, Soundminer, Basehead or Sound Grinder.
