During our stay in Ubud, Bali, we ventured on a day trip to the mystical Lempuyang Temple which led us to an extraordinary sound recording opportunity. With the off-season timing, we sidestepped the usual throngs of tourists, allowing for a more intimate exploration of the area. Our guide's suggestion to visit the bat cave near Goa Lawah Temple opened the door to a world of unique auditory experiences.

The cave, a sanctuary for thousands of bats, presented a breathtaking scene of these creatures in various states of activity. Due to visitor restrictions, we stationed ourselves below the cave's entrance. Using my tripod as an improvised boom, I positioned my DPA 4060 microphones to record the sounds with minimal background interference.

The sonic treasures we gathered at the Goa Lawah Temple bat cave are fantastic. From the screeches of sleeping bats to the vibrant flutters of flight, each sound effect reveals the cave's lively ecosystem.

These high-quality recordings are an excellent resource for filmmakers, video producers, and musicians seeking authentic and atmospheric bat sounds to elevate their projects but also for research purpose.
