During our stay in Ubud, Bali, we decided to take a day trip to the ancient and iconic Lempuyang Temple. We had the opportunity to explore the temple with a local guide and even though the weather was not favorable, we were able to capture some amazing sounds.
Since it was off-season, we were able to avoid the crowds at the popular tourist destinations. As we were returning, our guide mentioned the bat cave near the Goa Lawah Temple where thousands of bats gather. Excited by the opportunity to capture unique sounds, we decided to visit the bat cave with all of my sound equipment in tow.
Upon arriving at the cave, we were awestruck by the sight of the walls covered in sleeping, squeaking, and flying bats. As a visitor, we were not allowed to climb the stairs, so we had to make the recording from below. To achieve a better sound with less background noise from the street, I used my tripod as a boom with my DPA 4060 microphones.
The bats sound effects we recorded at Goa Lawah Temple in Bali are truly unique and we are excited to share them with you. These high-quality sound effects are perfect for use in film, video, and music production.
Be sure to check out more sounds on our Animals Page and this Bats Sound Effects Library.
